Thimble Wreaks Havoc in Wrexham during Children's Book Week

Author Jon Blake and illustrator Martin Chatterton are meeting children at schools and libraries across Wrexham this week to launch Thimble Holiday Havoc, sequel to Lollies shortlisted Thimble Monkey Superstar as part of Children’s Book Week (13-17 November).

Thimble Holiday Havoc is the sequel to Thimble Monkey Superstar currently shortlisted for the Laugh Out Loud Awards 2017 selected by Michael Rosen, and is the only Welsh book on the shortlist. Teachers, librarians, parents and children can vote for their favourite book to win on the LOLLIES shortlist at www.scholastic.co.uk/lollies, with voting set to end on December 8th ahead of a London party and winners’ ceremony in January 2018. #VoteThimble

Both books feature Jams, a young boy who uses a walker due to his cerebral palsy, and who is based on the author’s own son, Jordi (in photo above), who has CP. Jams lives with his mum and his dad, who is always trying, and failing, to get the better of the latest addition to the family – Thimble the monkey – in a series of madcap, laugh-out-loud adventures. When Mum organises a house swap holiday to France with Thimble on board, what can possibly go wrong…
