Furry Fury Animal Competition


Create an animal character to appear in a funny detective story.


Author Jennifer Killick is looking for a funny animal character for her next hilarious book Alex Sparrow and the Furry Fury, sequel to Alex Sparrow and the Really Big Stink
Best friends Alex Sparrow and Jess have crazy super powers and have been recruited by the Professor to solve mysteries at their school. They already have the help of Bob the Goldfish who is very clever and very anxious and they need another pet or animal that can help them solve the next mystery. 
For the chance to see your animal character written into Alex Sparrow and the Furry Fury, write (maximum 250 words) or draw your animal and describe its personality and what special powers or characteristics it has to help Alex Sparrow, Jess and Bob. Your animal will need to be one you can find in the British countryside. 
The winner will see their animal character written into Alex Sparrow and the Furry Fury (out spring 2018), an advance signed copy, their name in the acknowledgements in the book and a school visit from the author. 
The competition is open to all children in the UK and Ireland for ages 7-12. All entries must have your name, age and an adult contact name with their email address. The deadline for entries is 29 September 2017 and we’ll let the winner know by 27 October 2017.
